Preserving the Written Word
Founded in 1987 by master binder Eleanor Voss in a small workshop on Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn Bookbinder has grown from a one-woman operation into one of New York's most respected artisan studios.
Today, Eleanor's daughter Margaret carries forward the tradition, blending time-honored techniques with modern sensibilities. Each book that leaves our studio represents over 100 hours of meticulous handwork.
